Manuscript Types
Jurnal Pendidik Indonesia (JPI) considers scholarly manuscripts that address a clear question in education and fit its Focus and Scope. The categories below help authors choose an appropriate contribution and structure.
1. Original Research Articles
Original research reports a defined educational problem, suitable methods, findings, and an interpretation of their contribution to educational knowledge or practice.
- Quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods studies, including experimental, survey, case study, and classroom research.
- Educational design research, research and development, and evaluation studies when the educational question and evidence are clearly explained.
Methods, participants or data sources, instruments, analysis, ethical considerations, and limitations should be reported as applicable.
2. Review Articles
A review article critically examines and synthesises a body of educational scholarship around a defined question. It explains how sources were identified, selected, analysed, and synthesised; it should offer insights beyond a descriptive list of studies.
- Systematic, scoping, critical, and theoretical reviews may be considered when the approach and contribution are clear.
3. Conceptual Articles and Book Reviews
A conceptual article develops a reasoned argument, framework, or interpretation grounded in relevant education literature. A book review critically evaluates a scholarly book relevant to JPI’s scope and provides complete bibliographic information. Authors should contact the editor before submitting these categories if the current article template does not cover their structure.
4. General Requirements
All categories must be original, fit the journal scope, follow the Author Guidelines and template where applicable, and comply with Publication Ethics. An initial editorial assessment determines whether a manuscript can proceed to peer review; submission does not guarantee acceptance.
