Correction and Retraction Policy
Jurnal Pendidik Indonesia (JPI) preserves an accurate and transparent scholarly record. Authors and readers may report an error or serious concern about a published article through the official contact page, providing the article title and URL, the issue, and available evidence.
Corrections. The editor assesses whether an error affects the interpretation, attribution, or bibliographic record. After consulting the authors and other relevant parties where appropriate, JPI may publish a dated correction notice linked to the original article and update its metadata or file in accordance with that notice. Substantive changes are not made silently.
Retractions. JPI considers retraction when reliable evidence shows that findings are unreliable or a serious breach has occurred, such as fabrication, plagiarism, duplicate publication, or a material ethical problem. The editor reviews the record, manages conflicts of interest, and gives relevant parties an opportunity to respond. A retraction notice states the reason and who made the decision, links to the article, and preserves its bibliographic record. Access to the full text may be restricted only when required for legal reasons or the protection of affected parties, with an explanation in the notice.
Withdrawal before publication. An author may request withdrawal of an unpublished submission with the submission ID, reason, and agreement of coauthors. The editor checks the workflow stage and any unresolved integrity concern, then records the decision in OJS. A published article is addressed through correction or retraction, not silent deletion.
Complaints and appeals about the process are described in Publication Integrity; allegations of misconduct are handled under Allegations of Research Misconduct.
