Generative AI Policy

Jurnal Pendidik Indonesia (JPI) permits responsible, transparent support from generative AI tools while keeping scholarly judgment and accountability with people. This policy applies to authors, editors, and reviewers handling JPI submissions.

1. Authors

Authors are responsible for the originality, accuracy, citations, data, images, permissions, and conclusions of the entire manuscript. AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Use of AI in the research method, analysis, or substantive preparation must be explained in the appropriate manuscript section and the Artificial Intelligence Statement. Routine spelling or grammar assistance that does not alter substance need not be itemized.

Authors must verify AI output and must not fabricate data, references, participant responses, or results. Do not enter confidential participant information or protected third-party material into external services without necessary permission and safeguards.

2. Editors

Editors may use technical or administrative assistance only while protecting the confidentiality of unpublished submissions. Human editors remain responsible for scope checks, reviewer selection, ethical assessment, communication, and decisions. Confidential manuscripts and review records must not be uploaded to external AI systems without authorization and appropriate safeguards.

3. Reviewers

Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts using their own expertise and independent judgment. They must not upload unpublished manuscripts, figures, data, or review correspondence to a generative AI service, or use such a service to generate a substantive assessment or recommendation. Confidentiality and responsibility for the review remain with the appointed reviewer.

4. Concerns and Corrections

The editor may request clarification or a corrected declaration when AI use is unclear. Suspected fabrication, undisclosed use, or breach of confidentiality is assessed under Publication Ethics and, for published material, the Publication Integrity policy.
