Peer Review Process
Jurnal Pendidik Indonesia (JPI) uses editorial screening followed, where appropriate, by independent double-blind peer review. This page describes the published procedure; each manuscript’s actual review record is maintained in OJS.
1. Initial Editorial Screening
The editor checks the submission for scope, completeness, originality, formatting, declarations, and basic scholarly presentation. A manuscript may be returned for correction or declined before external review. Passing screening is not acceptance.
2. Double-Blind Review
Manuscripts selected for review are assigned to reviewers with relevant expertise. Author and reviewer identities are concealed from each other. The editorial team manages anonymisation and confidential correspondence. Reviewers assess the contribution, methods, analysis, discussion, references, and fit with the journal. Their recommendations advise the editor.
3. Editorial Decision
The responsible editor considers reviewer reports and journal policies and records a decision in OJS. Possible outcomes include revision, acceptance, or rejection. The final decision belongs to the editor, not an individual reviewer. Payment has no role in the decision.
4. Revision and Reassessment
When revision is requested, authors upload a revised manuscript and a response to reviewer comments through the OJS workflow. The editor may assess the revision or return it to reviewers. A revision request does not guarantee acceptance.
5. Acceptance and Production
An accepted manuscript proceeds to editorial preparation, copyediting, layout, final checks, and publication. Any APC is requested only after final acceptance under the Article Processing Charge policy.
6. Timeline and Communication
The initial review may be completed in approximately two weeks under favourable conditions, but reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, and revisions can change the time required. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed deadline. Authors should monitor the email and OJS account used for submission.
